    In order to enhance the smoothly character of the startup process of the heavy truck, a startup control algorithm is proposed based on the analysis of the acceleration fluctuation before and after the lock point, which adopts variable structure cascade double loop control to keep the rotating speed of the engine constant. Considering the nonlinear characteristics of the clutch operating system, the neuron adaptive PID control algorithm is adopted in the acceleration loop to solve the problem of nonlinear control. The experiment results show that acceleration fluctuation before and after the lock point can be restrained by using this algorithm, then the performance of the launch process is improved.

    Ultrasonic Vibration Assisted Electric Discharge Machining is a 3C (Complex Plant, Complex Task, Complex Environment) system. The performance of control system is crucial for compound machining. A new FNN controller is developed and the learning algorithm is designed in this paper. The controller can learn it self by using the artificial neural network; the learning result can adjust the controlling rules with the condition changing, which optimize precision and improve the real time characteristic of the system. The correlation model between the machining performance and discharge parameters is established according to the experiment data, which is then applied to control the discharge gap. The experiment results indicate that the machining effect of the new FNN controller is better than that of the traditional machining tool.

    Analysis of notched specimen of elasticplastic materials by using Neuber rule always lead to over high estimated values of local stress and strain. So conservative initiallife results were usually obtained. Since the coefficient was added to equivalent strain energy density rule on the basis of the plastic deformation item of Neuber rule, the local stress and strain estimation results should be more accurate. According to energy method, elasticplasticity strain energy density of material in the case of cyclic loading was discussed. It was discovered that the plastic strain density was taken into account by the ESED rule, and this was the energy theory basis for the further lower values of local stresses estimated by ESED rule than those obtained by Neuber rule. The above conclusion agreed well with fatigue test.

    A circle locating method based on roundness is introduced. It is only suitable for standard circle when the threshold of roundness equals to 1. We can set appropriate threshod and locate the position of circle simplely when lens and circle surface are nonparalell because of objective reason by using this method rather than Hough transform. Experiment proves that this method is simple and effective, with good tolerance and robustness.

    The curves of traffic flow parameters describing the traffic macroscopic characteristics are acquired by conducting a series of field measurements on several sections of the Inner Ring Elevated Road in Shanghai City. The fitting method of nonlinear least square is adopted in data processing. Two speed-density relations are worked out based on the analysis of traffic flow, thus two important critical parameters, namely, the free flow speed and the jamming density are determined. The results show that exponential speed-density relation is suitable for the free flow while the hyperbolic relation for the congested flow.

    The airflow motion in cylinder and its influence on the combustion process for the natural gas engine were studied through numerical simulation technology. Two combustion systems with different intake ports were simulated. The results of the numerical simulation show that the final momentum near TDC and the center of the vortex flow are influenced by the airflow motion formed during the intake process; the vortex flow can be maintained to TDC, and the main reason for the increase in the turbulence intensity is that the large scale turbulence breaks up into very small scale vortex flow during the terminal compression stroke; it is helpful for the even radial spreading of the flame that the center of the vortex flow in cylinder is close to the cylinder center.

    In order to meet the future need of realtime and quasirealtime applications, the OBS network design requires short latency time. FRR (forward resource reservation) algorithm is an efficient method to reduce the endtoend data burst delay, but it still has some defections in bandwidth availability. Aiming at the potential problems in the FRR algorithm, PAFRR (precision assembly with forward resource reservation) is proposed. Both theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the PAFRR over to the FRR scheme.

    The hand back image is captured by the device made by ourselves. The articular skin texture is segmented and located by utilizing Canny operator. According to convolution theorem, the fast match algorithm of two articular skin textures is given. The correlation classifier is used to judge whether the two articular skin textures are the same pattern. The experiment results on a small database show that the pattern has good reliability and stability and the identify rate is 95.58 percent as FAR equals to FRR.

    Presents signal changed phase control algorithm for single intersection based on fuzzy logic and finishes the simulation. The traditional signal control algorithms are concerned about optimization of phases' time and ignore optimization of phases' combination. Take example for four-phase signal control used commonly in real world, research discovers that flexible combination of phases can acquire better control results under the premise of unchanged old order of four phases. Compared with traditional signal fuzzy control method for single intersection, signal changed phase control algorithm possesses flexible phase combination and phase time, it adapts to the real-time change of traffic status in the intersection very well. Simulation is finished based on the typical the four corners and traffic flow in different stages, the result indicates that signal changed phase fuzzy control is prior to traditional fuzzy control for the intersection of uneven traffic flow and it can reduce vehicle delay time greatly. The proposed algorithm is practicable and useful for city intersection signal control.

    Urban arterial roads play an important role in urban traffic, and the control efficiency of the arterial roads intersection will affect the whole traffic of the city. A practical approach to fuzzy control algorithm of urban traffic flow of intersection is described. Based on existing fuzzy logic controller, a green light termination algorithm is added, which can adjust green light extension time to avoid unnecessary extension time. So that the split is optimized by fuzzy logic. A simulation experiment was performed to measure the capability of above fuzzy controller at a four-phase intersection, and the performance was measured with average vehicle delays through the intersection. The simulations show that the results of the fuzzy controller are more satisfactory than fixed time method.

    Uncertain problems can be transformed to deterministic ones by a variety of stochastic programming models from different points, and these models can also reflect the attitude of the decision makers to some degree. A new stochastic programming model is proposed, in which some chance control constraints are used to the constraints that could be violated or the corresponding recourse terms to control the chance and the recourse at the same time. A new decomposition algorithm based on GA and SA is also proposed to resolve the model. Finally it is demonstrated by an example that the proposed model can reflect the decision attitude more clearly, and shows the validity of the decomposition algorithm.

    To solve the difficult problem of fault detection in DC systems, a new method combining leakage current and waveform analysis methods is proposed to identify the branch with earth fault. The leakage current method is used to find fault in single wire. It detects imbalance DC current between positive and negative wires. The waveform analysis method is used to detect fault with insulation reduction in both wires. It injects a low frequency square wave signal to DC system. The insulation reduction of branch is detected by analyzing the relationships of phase and amplitude between fundamental and third harmonic components. The waveform analysis method can also be used in portable fault location instruments. These two methods were integrated to detect the fault perfectly. A distributed insulation monitoring system for substation DC source using LonWorks Fieldbus technology is introduced. Some key techniques, such as selection of the sensor, frequency and amplitude of square signal, reducing injected signal's influence to DC systems and locating fault point exactly are discussed. Experimental tests verify the correctness and feasibility of the proposed method.

    The paper analysis the use of scenario analysis in detention basin development, using a case study from Haihe Basin. The development process of alternative scenarios is proposed. The analysis focuses on possible future developments in a region that is undergoing major economic and social changes, and where conditions can be best characterized as uncertain. The qualitative scenarios presented in the paper attempt to provide indications of how future development.

    According to characters of concrete gravity dam, a cusp catastrophe model of concrete gravity dam sliding along the contact surface between dam and foundation is established considering strain softening and waterpermeating softening characters of the crack. Sliding mechanism of concrete gravity dam is analyzed. The authors point out that inner properties of the system is the main factor of instability of sliding while the action of outside environment will trigger the catastrophe. By analyzing the model, the critical displacement and force of the system corresponding to the catastrophe are presented.

    A+s(X*) and A-s(X*) are upper assistant set and lower assistant set of two direction Srough sets respectively. Both A+s(X*) and A-s(X*) are classic sets. The result of fuzzy decisionmaking on As(X*) are composed of results of decisionmaking on A+s(X*) and A-s(X*). The concept of two direction rough decisionmaking is defined in this paper. Judgment theorem and discernment theorem of two direction rough decisionmaking are put forward.     The unperturbed system and perturbed system of a kind of Modified Kortewegde Vries (MKdV) equations are considered. Travelling wave method is applied to transform MKdV equations into ordinary differential equations and the forth order Rungekutta method is used to draw their phase portraits. Simple cell mapping(SCM) method is employed to obtain the global and the finite step domain of attraction of MKdV equations. The results are in agreement with their phase portraits.

    By using concept of variation rough sets, this paper presents the concept of filter degree of variation knowledge, the characters about granulation and filter of variation knowledge [α/R] are also discussed. We further present the concepts of the granulation degree and filter degree of variation knowledge sets, and analyze the characters about granulation and filter of variation knowledge sets. Using these results, this paper presents filter-separation principle and filter surplus-separation principle of variation knowledge.

    The deadband mechanism of the pneumatic proportional valve and its adverse effects on the system control performance are analyzed. A new compensation method for reducing the friction of the valve is presented. The valve friction that is the main cause of the proportional valve deadband is analyzed, and the valve deadband is compensated by means of neural network control, the adverse effect on the system reliability of the valve is eliminated. System simulation is carried out, and the simulation results show that the control method used for the deadband compensation of the proportional valve is correct and feasible. The presented compensation method has high engineering values.

    The performance of UWB communication system, which employs RAKE receiver with maximum ratio combining and equal gain combining, is researched based on the channel models proposed by IEEE 802.15.3a. BER performances are obtained via theoretical analysis and computer simulation. The results show that in dense multipath environment, SRAKE receiver using equal gain combining with low complexity can achieve good performance, so it's fit for UWB communication system.

    Eyes location is important in iris recognition and face recognition. A new approach for the fast real-time eye-pair-location is presented in this paper. The head is taken out of the image by using mathematical morphology. A new template to strength characteristics of face is used. The eyes are located by combing the figure rojection with the characters of face. Experimental result shows that this approach has good accuracy, robust and real-time performance.

    Car-mounted fatigue detection system needs light size, low consumption and portable LCD which can show under complicated illumination terms. In this paper, the operation principle and usage are introduced and an ideal LCD display solution for carmounted fatigue detection system based on DSP is designed. A kind of method that can be used for reference for various kinds of designs of portable image process systems is developed and some valuable experience in the respect of interface design, data transmission and power are offered.

    After a detailed analysis of the forces in subway train's running, the dynamics mathematical model of subway train is constructed; the eventbased control technology is adopted to solve the controlling of subway, the velocity and acceleration function with respect to the distance are deduced by introducing the action reference variable in the control problem which the object is to minimize the running time. The running scheme can be programmed in realtime, the delay caused by uncertain events is avoided. So it offers a new way for the metro research. The simulation shows that method is effective.

    In order to solve the difficulties existed in fingerprint multiclassification for Support Vector Machine, this paper proposes a novel fingerprint classification method based on binary tree theory. This algorithm uses binary tree to construct the multiclass frame by decomposing the problem into three 2class classification problems, then uses Support Vector Machine optimizing the three hyperplanes. The combination of the two exerted the superiority for 2class classification of SVM over other algorithms completely, the generalization ability has improved greatly and the total accuracy for the new sample is 97.9%. Experimental results show that the fingerprint multiclass problem is divided into three 2class classifier system by using binary tree to construct the multiclass frame, which not only can improve the efficiency of fingerprint classification but also exerts the superiorities of SVM classifier for twoclass classification problem sufficiently.
