Numerical simulation analysis and its application of tunnel excavation and support of the Erdaoya tunnel

Abstract: A large number of engineering examples show that the stress adjust and displacement of rock mass during excavation are not completely instantaneous. The FEM numerical ABAQUS is used to simulate the excavation and support process of the Erdaoya tunnel. The mechanical behavior of the surrounding rock mass and bolts under different stress release ratios is obtained from numerical simulations. The results show that the calculation results for consideration of stress release is better for soft rock, in reflecting the deformation and its damage character of engineering.
