Abstract: On the basis of the combination of genetic algorithm and BP neural network, the paper designs a new method to evaluate carrying capacity of water resources. The method was applied to evaluate the carrying capacity of water resources in the Huaihe River basin. The experimental results indicate that the method is feasible. It opens up new way for the quantitative analysis of carrying capacity of water resources.
