Abstract:

A new characterization method of oil-water emulsion dynamic characteristics was studied by measuring the size of oil droplets, and the grain size variations of different simulated emulsions were measured. The dynamic characteristics of the oilwater emulsion formed by sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS), nonyl phenol polyethenoxy ether(NP-10) and alkyl ethoxylation sodium sulfate(AES) were compared. The effect of polymer and ethanol in the formation of the oilwater emulsion was studied, and the emulsification mechanism was preliminarily discussed. The results showed that this method could not only reflect the emulsifying speed of the oil-water emulsion, but also suggest the variation regularity of the droplets sizes in the oil-water emulsion. This study will play an important role on the study of the oil-water emulsion forming process and stabilization in practice.
