Abstract:

A new improvement was provided on a particle swarm optimization algorithm based on the idea of locking and tracking, and a new method based on the maximum likelihood algorithm for dynamic directionofarrival (DOA) estimation under impulsive noise environments was studied. This method can avoid the decompositions of the fractional lower order moments matrix which should be repeated in the methodsbased on subspace tracking, and perform better than the methods based on subspace tracking in the aspect of tracking precision. In addition the cost of the multidimensional search can be mostly reduced.

Key words: dynamic DOA estimation; impulsive noise; coherent signals; fractional lower order moment
