Design and implementation of a realtime motion detection method based on DirectShow

Abstract: Under the DirectShow environment, a novel method of realtime motion detection was presented for the application of intelligent video surveillance system. First, a realtime motion detection algorithm was proposed, and then improved by combining the characteristic of DirectShow. Second, a filter component with the function of real-time motion detection was realized and the intelligent video surveillance system was established, which detects the motion goal first and then compresses and transports its images. Fianlly, the feasibility and advantages of this system was proved by experiments.
