The fluctuation and impact effect of the engine time chain

Abstract: In the process of the silent chain drive used as the timing transmission in motor, the chain always suffers from meshing impact and waving for polygon action. The meshing models of conventional and involute chain drive are built by Pro/Engineer , the highspeed dynamic simulation and analyses of the models are achieved based on ADAMS. The results show that the fluctuation range of normative chain drive is lower at medium speed, and the meshing impact force of the involute tooth profile sprocket is lower than conventional sprocket.
