An inspecting system for foreign fibers based on machine vision

Abstract: The technologies currently used cannot effectively detect foreign fibers in cotton for their diversity and some almost the same appearance as the cotton fibers， which are paid more attention by many countries. This paper presents an inspecting system for foreign fibers based on machine vision. Then the key technologies of subsystems are respectively discussed. In this paper, a color clustering algorithm for detecting foreign fibers is proposed. The experiment result indicates that most of the foreign fibers can be detected.
