Methods for dataaided channel estimation for DSUWB systems

Abstract: Two dataaided channel estimation methods named KD (known delays) estimation and UKD (unknown delays) estimation are presented. The influence caused by the number of the training symbols is analyzed. The BER performances of MRC (maximum ratio combing) Rake receiver with both KD estimation and UKD estimation are verified and compared via simulations. The simulation results show that the KD estimation outperforms the UKD estimation in dense multipath environments. The more the training symbols are used, the better the system performance is.
