Abstract: Cast steel hollow spherical joint with tube is one of the developing joints. By computation of nonlinear finite element Model for the joints with different diameter, plasticzone spread, deformation process, failure mechanism and influence of geometric parameters on joint bearing capacity are studied. Some primary influence factors on joint strength are found out, which can provide theoretical basis for design of cast steel hollow spherical joint. The results can provide reference for cast steel joint code.
