A modified MI measure on 3D medical image registration

Abstract: Medical image registration based on Mutual Information(MI) is a hot topic in registration research. The MI's formula is modified to reduce computing cost, and the replace of Powell's search direction is also rectified to reserve the original direction, Multiresolution method is used in our registration test. The results show that the modified MI measure can reach subvoxel precision, and the registration time is reduced remarkably.
