A multiuser detection method of oversaturated wavelet packet division multiple access communication

Abstract: A novel OverSaturated Wavelet Packet Division Multiple Access (OWPDMA) system is presented, in which oversaturated codes are orthogonal to each other and are located in the scale as low as possible in the tree structure of wavelet packet. According to the property of MultiAccess Interference (MAI), a novel Packet Successive Interference Cancellation (PSIC) method is proposed as MultiUser Detection (MUD) algorithm. Computer simulation results in AWGN channel and single path Rayleigh fading channel demonstrate that the novel system, with more capacity than orthogonal WPDMA code set, has the performance weakly inferior to orthogonal WPDMA code set and Lowest Scale OWPDMA code set. PSIC MUD method has the complexity linear with the number of users, with good convergent tendency.
